9th March 2022 Outing to St Paul's Cathedral

On a bright but chilly spring morning over thirty of us joined our Social Secretary Norman Rodda and his wife Alison on the first organised coach outing for over two years to St Paul's Cathedral. After diss-embarking in Queen Victoria Street we were able to take a stroll down to the Thames and walk over the Millennium Bridge with its magnificent views of the City and South Bank.

Returning from the bridge we then negotiated the mass ranks of the City of London School pupils on a fire drill to enter the Salvation Army Cafe101 for an early lunch. After lunch and coffee we were joined by Sue and Maureen our Blue Badge Guides who escorted us to the Cathedral where they entertained us with a mixture of facts and anecdotes of the history of Sir Christopher Wren's iconic masterpiece. An excellent afternoon, thanks you ladies.

All too soon it was back to the coach for the journey home through the busy streets of South London.

Many thanks Norman and Alison for getting us back out again, we look forward to the visit to Windsor Great Park in May.
