Our usual April lunch with our ladies was well attended with fifty eight of us enjoying a welcoming drink of prosecco in the bar before moving into the Harry Colt Room for our meal.
The new catering team served us a fine Breast of Chicken, Chasseur Sauce, Sauté Potatoes, Grilled Tomato, Tenderstem Broccoli, followed by a tasty Glazed Lemon Tart with Red Berry Coulis
Our after-lunch speaker was artist Margaret Eggleton who in the forty minutes available created a wonderful painting of bluebells in Cheam Park from a photo she had taken earlier in the week.
Margaret, a retired teacher, holds several weekly art classes in Cheam and as a member of the Surrey Hills 'Plein-Air' Painters enjoys painting in the Surrey countryside every week in all weathers.
Thank you Margaret for a fascinating insight into the life of an artist and for hopefully inspiring some of us to get back to the easel.
