Chairman David May had the pleasant task of presenting two members with a bottle of claret to mark their eightieth birthdays. Congratulations to Frank Rae and Michael Roberts.
Lunch was chicken and chestnut stroganoff, followed by strawberry shortcake and cream.
Our speaker Edward Towne gave us some interesting facts about the background and recruitment process of the Cambridge Spies, (Burgess, Maclean, Philby, Blunt and Cairncross). Unfortunately those members who had been at Trinity College were unable to add any further information!!
