November 2022 Lunch Report

We had a good attendance for the November lunch and the members enjoyed a very tasty Beef Bourguignon, Puff Pastry Cap, Sauté Potatoes and a Selection of Vegetables, followed by Tiramisu.

After lunch and before our Speaker we held the Club AGM and voted in the new Committee for 2023. Our Chairman for next year is Michael Fisk and all the current members of the Committee will continue for another twelve months apart from John Pembury who is stepping down from his role as Catering Secretary.

After the AGM we were entertained by our very own Norman Rodda (Social Secretary) who gave us a Scenic trip around his homeland New Zealand.

Highlights included Christchurch and Dunedin where Norman had spent his earlier days and several of the National Parks and Reserves. There were photos of the endangered Takahe, the largest flightless bird on the island with a population of just over 400 remaining. As to be expected in New Zealand many of the photos included mountain peaks in the distance but what was not expected was that Norman would identify the peak and say 'I've climbed that one and the one next to it as well!' Thank you Norman for a most interesting talk .
