We were back to normal with a real lunch and a speaker for the second time this year. Unfortunately we were low on numbers, only twenty two dining, as many of the members, your reporter included, had taken the opportunity to go on holiday for the first time for many months.
The attendees were welcomed by Chairman John Gilbert who was pleased to finally be able to present Kevin Shears with a bottle of Champagne in recognition of reaching his ninetieth birthday.
After a very tasty Lemon & Herb Chicken, Ratatouille & Sauté Potatoes followed by Summer Fruit pudding torte the members were entertained by Ian Keable, who not only gave an excellent presentation on the life and work of David Devant- England's Greatest Magician but also performed a number of amazing magic tricks. Thank you Ian, we look forward to some more magic soon, when hopefully we will all be in attendance
